Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Still Life With Fruit And Flowers, Together With Oysters, Mussels, A Glass Of Wine, A Decanter And Other Objects On A Stone Ledge, A Landscape Beyond by Jan van Os. The price achieved of USD 116,500.00 (€ 80,217.59) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 100,000.00 – 150,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan van Os have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 369,650.00 (€ 589,606.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Juni 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Still Life With Fruit And Flowers, Together With Oysters, Mussels, A Glass Of Wine, A Decanter And Other Objects On A Stone Ledge, A Landscape Beyond von Jan van Os zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 116.500,00 (€ 80.217,59) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 100.000,00 – 150.000,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van Os auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 369.650,00 (€ 589.606,09).
