Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Still Life Of Roses, Morning Glory, A Poppy And Other Flowers With A Bunch Of Grapes On A Ledge, Buildings In The Distance by Jan van Os was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2014. The price achieved of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 39,901.74) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 25,000.00 – 35,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Os achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 369,650.00 (€ 589,606.09).
