Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2011 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture, which included the work Flower Still Life With A Birds' Nest On A Ledge by Jan van Os. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 80,000.00 – 120,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 80,500.00 (€ 58,694.86) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Os achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 369,650.00 (€ 589,606.09).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2011 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings & Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Flower Still Life With A Birds' Nest On A Ledge von Jan van Os zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 80.500,00 (€ 58.694,86) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Os erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 369.650,00 (€ 589.606,09).
