Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Winter Landscape; A Summer Landscape by Jan van Os was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2011. It changed hands for a price of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,518.43) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 15,000.00 – 20,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Os achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 369,650.00 (€ 589,606.09).
