Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work A Ferry Boat by Jan van Os was sold in the Master Paintings and Sculpture: Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2015. Here, the upper estimate of USD 35,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 37,500.00 (€ 33,215.23). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Os achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge in July 2002 with an auction result of GBP 369,650.00 (€ 589,606.09).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Pink and yellow roses, peonies, an iris, tulips, primulas, hyacinths, a poppy, a coxcomb, fritillaries and other flowers in a sculpted urn with a bird's nest on a marble ledge im Juli 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 369.650,00 (€ 589.606,09).
