Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Portrait of a mother as Charity and three children by Jan van Noordt was auctioned at Christies in London in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 25,200.00 (€ 23,653.09). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan van Noordt - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Amaryllis Couronnant Mirtillojan Van Noordt ; Amaryllis Crowning Mirtillo ; Old Label On The Reverse Of The Frame With The Number 57 ; Oil On Canvas, which sold at auction in June 2013 for EUR 91,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Portrait of a mother as Charity and three children von Jan van Noordt im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 25.200,00 (€ 23.653,09) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan van Noordt mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Amaryllis Couronnant Mirtillojan Van Noordt ; Amaryllis Crowning Mirtillo ; Old Label On The Reverse Of The Frame With The Number 57 ; Oil On Canvas beobachtet, die im Juni 2013 für EUR 91.500,00 versteigert wurde.
