In July 2013 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Paintings Evening Sale, which included the work Study Of Insects, Butterflies And A Snail With A Sprig Of Forget-Me-Nots; Study Of Butterflies And Other Insects With A Sprig Of Apple Blossom by Jan van Kessel. The price achieved of GBP 302,500.00 (€ 345,658.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 250,000.00 – 350,000.00. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 302.500,00 (€ 345.658,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 250.000,00 – 350.000,00 angegeben worden.
