Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Holy Family at rest in Egypt by Jan van Huysum was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in January last year. The price achieved of USD 163,800.00 (€ 146,093.47) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 150,000.00 – 200,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Huysum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Green grapes on the vine with morning glory, pink and white hollyhocks, a red opium poppy, a walnut, hazelnuts, a split melon, a pomegranate, black grapes, redcurrants, raspberries, greengage plums and other fruit with a wicker basket of black cherri in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,760,000.00 (€ 5,453,

Die Arbeit The Holy Family at rest in Egypt von Jan van Huysum kam im Januar letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 163.800,00 (€ 146.093,47) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 150.000,00 – 200.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Huysum erzielen.
