Auction result well in line with expectations
The work An Italianate River Landscape With A Waterfall And A Figure On A Path, A Villa And Mountains Beyond; And An Italianate River Landscape With Travellers Crossing A Bridge And A Figure On Horseback, A Villa Beyond by Jan van Huysum was auctioned at Christies in London in April 2016. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 5,000.00 – 8,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 5,625.00 (€ 7,190.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Huysum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Green grapes on the vine with morning glory, pink and white hollyhocks, a red opium poppy, a walnut, hazelnuts, a split melon, a pomegranate, black grapes, redcurrants, raspberries, greengage plums and other fruit with a wicker basket of black cherri in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,760,000

Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 5.000,00 – 8.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 5.625,00 (€ 7.190,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
