Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2018 Christies in London held the auction Old Masters Day Sale, which included the work An Italianate river landscape with shepherds and mules crossing a bridge; and An Italianate river landscape with figures fishing by a waterfall, a town beyond by Jan van Huysum. The price achieved of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,022.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 15,000.00 – 25,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Huysum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Green grapes on the vine with morning glory, pink and white hollyhocks, a red opium poppy, a walnut, hazelnuts, a split melon, a pomegranate, black grapes, redcurrants, raspberries, greengage plums and other fruit with a wicker basket of black cherri in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,760,000.00 (€ 5,453,

Im Juli 2018 führte Christies in London die Auktion Old Masters Day Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit An Italianate river landscape with shepherds and mules crossing a bridge; and An Italianate river landscape with figures fishing by a waterfall, a town beyond von Jan van Huysum zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.022,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Huysum erzielen.
