Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2013 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master Drawings, which included the work Roses And Other Flowers In An Open-Weave Basket by Jan van Huysum. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 120,000.00 – 180,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 122,500.00 (€ 90,179.62) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Huysum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Green grapes on the vine with morning glory, pink and white hollyhocks, a red opium poppy, a walnut, hazelnuts, a split melon, a pomegranate, black grapes, redcurrants, raspberries, greengage plums and other fruit with a wicker basket of black cherri in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,760,000.00 (€ 5,453,
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2013 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Old Master Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Roses And Other Flowers In An Open-Weave Basket von Jan van Huysum zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 120.000,00 – 180.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 122.500,00 (€ 90.179,62) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Huysum erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Green grapes on the vine with morning glory, pink and white hollyhocks, a red opium poppy, a walnut, hazelnuts, a split melon, a pomegranate, black grapes, redcurrants, raspberries, greengage plums and other fruit with a wicker basket of black cherri im Juli 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 3.760.000,00 (€ 5.453.844,50).
