Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Italianate Landscape With Peasants Conversing By A Waterfall, A Muleteer With His Barren Beyond by Jan van Huysum was auctioned at Sothebys in London in May 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 4,250.00 (€ 5,295.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Huysum achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Green grapes on the vine with morning glory, pink and white hollyhocks, a red opium poppy, a walnut, hazelnuts, a split melon, a pomegranate, black grapes, redcurrants, raspberries, greengage plums and other fruit with a wicker basket of black cherri in July 2005 with an auction result of GBP 3,760,000.00 (€ 5,453,

Die Arbeit A Italianate Landscape With Peasants Conversing By A Waterfall, A Muleteer With His Barren Beyond von Jan van Huysum kam im Mai 2012 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 4.250,00 (€ 5.295,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Huysum erzielen.
