Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait of a gentleman, probably a member of the Van Bredehoff family by Jan van Haensbergen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2021. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 3,276.00 (€ 3,848.46) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan van Haensbergen have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Money Changer in July 2011 with an auction result of GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,518.43).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Portrait of a gentleman, probably a member of the Van Bredehoff family von Jan van Haensbergen kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 3.276,00 (€ 3.848,46) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van Haensbergen auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Money Changer im Juli 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 18.750,00 (€ 21.518,43).
