Despite a disappointment, a good price for Jan van Haensbergen
This work of art by Jan van Haensbergen could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2011 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master and British Paintings Day Sale auction, the work The Money Changer changed hands for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 21,518.43) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Despite this disappointing result, The Money Changer is the most expensive artwork by Jan van Haensbergen that we have observed at auction so far.
