Auction result well in line with expectations

The work An Italianate wooded landscape with the departure of Jacob and Laban by Jan van der Meer the Younger was auctioned at Christies in Amsterdam in September 2007. The price achieved of EUR 3,750.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan van der Meer the Younger - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Shepherds Resting With Their Flock At The Edge Of A Wood, which sold at auction in December 2011 for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 8,233.78).

Die Arbeit An Italianate wooded landscape with the departure of Jacob and Laban von Jan van der Meer the Younger kam im September 2007 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 3.750,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan van der Meer the Younger mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Shepherds Resting With Their Flock At The Edge Of A Wood beobachtet, die im Dezember 2011 für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 8.233,78) versteigert wurde.
