Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2007 Sothebys in Olympia held the auction Old Master Paintings, which included the work Portrait Of A Gentleman Wearing A Purple Doublet And A White Shirt by Jan van Bijlert. The price achieved of GBP 7,200.00 (€ 10,541.73) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Bijlert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a young boy, full-length, in an embroidered yellow dress and white lace collar and cuffs, a cane in his left hand, proferring a biscuit to a dog begging on a table, before a red curtain in January 2007 with an auction result of GBP 131,200.00 (€ 197,950.70).
Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a young boy, full-length, in an embroidered yellow dress and white lace collar and cuffs, a cane in his left hand, proferring a biscuit to a dog begging on a table, before a red curtain im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.200,00 (€ 197.950,70).
