Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In January 2005 Christies in New York held the auction Important Old Master PaintingsPart II, which included the work Christ washing the Disciples' feet by Jan van Bijlert. The »bidding war« ended at USD 24,000.00 (€ 18,392.21), 20% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan van Bijlert achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a young boy, full-length, in an embroidered yellow dress and white lace collar and cuffs, a cane in his left hand, proferring a biscuit to a dog begging on a table, before a red curtain in January 2007 with an auction result of GBP 131,200.00 (€ 197,950.70).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Januar 2005 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Important Old Master PaintingsPart II durch, in der auch die Arbeit Christ washing the Disciples' feet von Jan van Bijlert zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 24.000,00 (€ 18.392,21) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan van Bijlert erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Portrait of a young boy, full-length, in an embroidered yellow dress and white lace collar and cuffs, a cane in his left hand, proferring a biscuit to a dog begging on a table, before a red curtain im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.200,00 (€ 197.950,70).
