In the Old Master Paintings Day Sale auction, the work A Young Man, Half-Length, Wearing A Burgundy Jacket And A Feathered Cap sold for GBP 30,500.00 (€ 41,444.33) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan van Bijlert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a young boy, full-length, in an embroidered yellow dress and white lace collar and cuffs, a cane in his left hand, proferring a biscuit to a dog begging on a table, before a red curtain in January 2007 with an auction result of GBP 131,200.00 (€ 197,950.70).
