Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Shepherd, Wearing A Plumed Hat, Holding A Staff In His Right Hand by Jan van Bijlert was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2008. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 31,250.00 (€ 32,821.59) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan van Bijlert have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a young boy, full-length, in an embroidered yellow dress and white lace collar and cuffs, a cane in his left hand, proferring a biscuit to a dog begging on a table, before a red curtain in January 2007 with an auction result of GBP 131,200.00 (€ 197,950.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Shepherd, Wearing A Plumed Hat, Holding A Staff In His Right Hand von Jan van Bijlert kam im Dezember 2008 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan van Bijlert auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Portrait of a young boy, full-length, in an embroidered yellow dress and white lace collar and cuffs, a cane in his left hand, proferring a biscuit to a dog begging on a table, before a red curtain im Januar 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 131.200,00 (€ 197.950,70).
