It achieved a price of USD 11,875.00 (€ 10,367.56), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 32%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Thopas - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Godert Dircksz. Kerckrinck (1577-1645), which sold at auction in July 2012 for GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,882.46).

Die Arbeit Portrait Of Cornelia Hessels von Jan Thopas kam im Januar 2019 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von USD 11.875,00 (€ 10.367,56) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 32%. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Thopas mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of Godert Dircksz. Kerckrinck (1577-1645) beobachtet, die im Juli 2012 für GBP 18.750,00 (€ 23.882,46) versteigert wurde.
