In July 2012 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master & British Drawings Sale, which included the work Portrait Of Godert Dircksz. Kerckrinck (1577-1645) by Jan Thopas. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 18,750.00 (€ 23,882.46), 25% above the upper estimate. With this result, Portrait Of Godert Dircksz. Kerckrinck (1577-1645) is even the most expensive work of art by Jan Thopas that we have observed at auctions so far.
