Auction result well in line with expectations
In June 2016 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Modern Art, which included the work Café de nuit (Bal Tabarin) by Jan Sluijters. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 200,000.00 – 30,000,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 397,500.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Jan Sluijters have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in November 2010 the work Maannacht III was auctioned for EUR 421,000.00.
