Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Jan Portielje could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in February 2018 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art auction, the work Dutch whispered Confidences changed hands for USD 8,125.00 (€ 6,653.84) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Portielje have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Moment by the Fire in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 52,875.00 (€ 62,536.96).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Portielje konnte im Februar 2018 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Fine Old Master & 19th Century European Art wechselte die Arbeit Dutch whispered Confidences für USD 8.125,00 (€ 6.653,84) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Portielje auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Moment by the Fire im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.875,00 (€ 62.536,96).
