Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A young beauty in blue: Hortence Portielje, the daughter of the artist by Jan Portielje was sold in the 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART auction at Christies in Amsterdam in October 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 15,000.00 – 20,000.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 15,600.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Jan Portielje have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Moment by the Fire in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 52,875.00 (€ 62,536.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A young beauty in blue: Hortence Portielje, the daughter of the artist von Jan Portielje wurde im Oktober 2005 in der Auktion 19TH CENTURY EUROPEAN ART bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von EUR 15.000,00 – 20.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von EUR 15.600,00 konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Jan Portielje auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Moment by the Fire im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.875,00 (€ 62.536,96).
