In the Two Great Scottish Collections: Property from the Forbeses of Pitsligo and the Marquesses of Lothian auction, the work A Macaw And A Hoopoe Perched On A Stone Urn With A Parrot On The Balustrade From Which Hangs A Swag Of Fruit sold for GBP 12,500.00 (€ 14,648.77) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Jan Pauwel Gillemans the Younger; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A Still Life With A Basket Of Fruit And A Parakeet Upon A Ledge Draped With A Damask Beside An Ormolu Mounted Porphyry Vase sold at auction in December 2011 with the realized price of GBP 23,750.00 (€ 28,443.98).
