Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A Wooded Landscape With Peasants Resting On A Track, A Lake Beyond by Jan Miel was auctioned at Sothebys in London in December 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 16,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,020.38). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Miel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ceres, Bacchus And Venus ('Sine Cerere Et Baccho Friget Venus') in May 2016 with an auction result of USD 394,000.00 (€ 353,839.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit A Wooded Landscape With Peasants Resting On A Track, A Lake Beyond von Jan Miel im Dezember 2012 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 16.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 8.125,00 (€ 10.020,38) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Miel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Ceres, Bacchus And Venus ('Sine Cerere Et Baccho Friget Venus') im Mai 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 394.000,00 (€ 353.839,25).
