Auction result misses estimated price range
In September 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work The Meeting Of David And Abigail by Jan Martszen the Younger for GBP 3,250.00 (€ 3,667.24). This price was achieved in the auction Old Masters Online | Part I: Property from the SØR Rusche Collection | Part II: Property from Various Owners at Sothebys in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Jan Martszen the Younger have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Wooded Dune Landscape With Bandits Holding Up A Covered Wagon in December 2007 with an auction result of GBP 23,300.00 (€ 31,660.75).
