Sold at the lower estimate price
In May 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction The Discerning Eye: Property from the Collection of Eric Franck, Part I, which included the work 'Dlažební, Brno,' (Cobblestones), 1931 by Jan Lauschmann. The result of GBP 1,500.00 (€ 1,722.81) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Lauschmann - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Evening on Our Staircase, 1927, which sold at auction in October 2017 for USD 6,875.00 (€ 5,902.30).
