Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2001 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS AT THE KUNSTFABRIEK, which included the work Peasants working in the field by Jan Knikker Sen.. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of NLG 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of NLG 2,115.00 (€ 925.48) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Knikker Sen. - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A panoramic landscape with cows along a river, which sold at auction in February 2004 for EUR 2,629.00.
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2001 führte Christies in Amsterdam die Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS AT THE KUNSTFABRIEK durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peasants working in the field von Jan Knikker Sen. zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von NLG 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von NLG 2.115,00 (€ 925,48) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Knikker Sen. mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A panoramic landscape with cows along a river beobachtet, die im Februar 2004 für EUR 2.629,00 versteigert wurde.
