The »bidding war« ended at NLG 2,585.00 (€ 1,197.26), 72% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Knikker Sen. - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A panoramic landscape with cows along a river, which sold at auction in February 2004 for EUR 2,629.00.

Die Arbeit A river landscape with a church in the distance von Jan Knikker Sen. wurde im März 2001 in der Auktion PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von NLG 2.585,00 (€ 1.197,26) und damit 72% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Knikker Sen. mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A panoramic landscape with cows along a river beobachtet, die im Februar 2004 für EUR 2.629,00 versteigert wurde.
