It achieved a price of NLG 2,350.00 (€ 1,028.31), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 18%. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Knikker Sen. - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A panoramic landscape with cows along a river, which sold at auction in February 2004 for EUR 2,629.00.
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit A polder landscape von Jan Knikker Sen. kam im Januar 2001 bei Christies in Amsterdam zur Auktion. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von NLG 2.350,00 (€ 1.028,31) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 18%. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan Knikker Sen. mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A panoramic landscape with cows along a river beobachtet, die im Februar 2004 für EUR 2.629,00 versteigert wurde.
