In the Old Master & 19th Century European Art, Including Property from The Forbes Collection: The Panorama of Champigny auction, the work Portrait Of A Man In Black changed hands for USD 8,750.00 (€ 6,703.44) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Jansz. de Stomme achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a girl, full-length, in a blue and black dress with gold trimming, with white lace collar and sleeves, holding an ostrich feather fan in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,759.39).
