Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Portrait Of A Boy, Three-Quarter-Length, Wearing A Grey Embroidered Suit And Holding A Feathered Hat by Jan Jansz. de Stomme was auctioned at Sothebys in London in September 2020. The price achieved of GBP 16,380.00 (€ 18,061.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Admittedly, works by Jan Jansz. de Stomme have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Portrait of a girl, full-length, in a blue and black dress with gold trimming, with white lace collar and sleeves, holding an ostrich feather fan in July 2007 with an auction result of GBP 84,000.00 (€ 124,759.39).
