Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2009 Sothebys in London held the auction British and Continental Pictures & 20th Century British Art, which included the work Belgian Portrait Of A Lady by Jan Portielje. The price achieved of GBP 3,500.00 (€ 3,774.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 4,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Portielje achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Moment by the Fire in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 52,875.00 (€ 62,536.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2009 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion British and Continental Pictures & 20th Century British Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Belgian Portrait Of A Lady von Jan Portielje zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 3.500,00 (€ 3.774,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 4.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Portielje erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Moment by the Fire im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 52.875,00 (€ 62.536,96).
