The work Rome, Four Classical Views With Figures: The Campo Vaccino; The Colosseum And The Arch Of Constantine; The Pyramid Of Cestius; And The Arch Of Constantine, With The Arch Of Titus, The Tower Of The Campidoglio, The Temple Of Venus And The Clock Tower Of Sa by Jan Frans van Bloemen was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 100,000.00 – 150,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 112,500.00 (€ 125,532.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan Frans van Bloemen - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Scene In The Roman Campagna With A Capriccio View Of Tivoli And A Bolt Of Lightning, which sold at auction in January 2016 for USD 274,000.00 (€ 252,954.21).
