This artwork by Jan Frans van Bloemen achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Paris in June 2021. In the Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session II auction, the work A classical landscape with the Tomb of Cecilia Metella and figures conversing; A classical landscape with a capriccio of the Vatican Belvedere and figures conversing in the foreground sold for EUR 22,680.00 - well above the upper estimate of EUR 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Frans van Bloemen achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Scene In The Roman Campagna With A Capriccio View Of Tivoli And A Bolt Of Lightning in January 2016 with an auction result of USD 274,000.00 (€ 252,954.21).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Jan Frans van Bloemen erzielte im Juni 2021 bei Sothebys in Paris einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Tableaux Dessins Sculptures 1300-1900, Session II wurde die Arbeit A classical landscape with the Tomb of Cecilia Metella and figures conversing; A classical landscape with a capriccio of the Vatican Belvedere and figures conversing in the foreground für EUR 22.680,00 versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von EUR 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Frans van Bloemen erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Scene In The Roman Campagna With A Capriccio View Of Tivoli And A Bolt Of Lightning im Januar 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 274.000,00 (€ 252.954,21).
