However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan de Bisschop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of René Descartes, Bust-Length And Leaning On A Ledge, In A Fictive Arch, which sold at auction in July 2001 for GBP 12,925.00 (€ 21,047.43).
