In July 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection, which included the work A Hillside And Trees, Near The Hague by Jan de Bisschop. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,750.00 (€ 5,644.03), 58% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jan de Bisschop - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of René Descartes, Bust-Length And Leaning On A Ledge, In A Fictive Arch, which sold at auction in July 2001 for GBP 12,925.00 (€ 21,047.43).

Im Juli 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Master and British Works on Paper Including drawings from the Oppé Collection durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Hillside And Trees, Near The Hague von Jan de Bisschop zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.750,00 (€ 5.644,03) und damit 58% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Jan de Bisschop mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Portrait Of René Descartes, Bust-Length And Leaning On A Ledge, In A Fictive Arch beobachtet, die im Juli 2001 für GBP 12.925,00 (€ 21.047,43) versteigert wurde.
