Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Portrait bust of Luca della Robbia, after Giorgio Vasari by Jan de Bisschop was sold in the The I.Q. van Regteren Altena Collection Part IV auction at Christies in New York in May 2015. Here, the upper estimate of EUR 1,800.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for EUR 2,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan de Bisschop achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait Of René Descartes, Bust-Length And Leaning On A Ledge, In A Fictive Arch in July 2001 with an auction result of GBP 12,925.00 (€ 21,047.43).
