Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A Southern Landscape With A Ruin by Jan Both was sold in the Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art auction at Sothebys in New York in January 2007. It changed hands for a price of USD 45,000.00 (€ 34,620.71) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Both achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work An Italianate evening landscape with a muleteer and goatherds on a wooded path, a river and mountains beyond in July 2000 with an auction result of GBP 1,433,750.00 (€ 2,318,354.87).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit A Southern Landscape With A Ruin von Jan Both wurde im Januar 2007 in der Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and European Works of Art bei Sothebys in New York versteigert. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit An Italianate evening landscape with a muleteer and goatherds on a wooded path, a river and mountains beyond im Juli 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 1.433.750,00 (€ 2.318.354,87).
