Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Landscape With Shepherds And Their Flock Crossing The Ponte Acquoria Near Tivoli by Jan Asselijn was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2011. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 10,625.00 (€ 12,193.78) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Asselijn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Breach Of The Sint Anthonisdijk On The Night Of 5–6 March 1651 in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 602,500.00 (€ 775,617.30).
