Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Coastal Landscape by Jan Asselijn was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 2,750.00 (€ 3,898.58). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Asselijn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Breach Of The Sint Anthonisdijk On The Night Of 5–6 March 1651 in December 2014 with an auction result of GBP 602,500.00 (€ 775,617.30).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Coastal Landscape von Jan Asselijn im Juli 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 2.750,00 (€ 3.898,58) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Jan Asselijn erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Breach Of The Sint Anthonisdijk On The Night Of 5–6 March 1651 im Dezember 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 602.500,00 (€ 775.617,30).
