Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 26,250.00 (€ 29,562.02) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Jan Anthonisz. van Ravesteyn achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portrait of a gentleman, three-quarter-length, in a black coat and lace collar; and Portrait of a lady, three-quarter-length, in a black dress with gold trim and a lace collar and headdress in April 2007 with an auction result of USD 712,000.00 (€ 521,229.87).
