This artwork by Jamian Juliano-Villani achieved an unexpectedly high price at Sothebys in Hong Kong in April last year. In the Contemporary Day Auction auction, the work Midnight Snack sold for HKD 1,071,000.00 (€ 129,491.70) - well above the upper estimate of HKD 600,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Jamian Juliano-Villani - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Heat Wave, which sold at auction in June 2021 for HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 342,171.67).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 79 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Jamian Juliano-Villani erzielte im April letzten Jahres bei Sothebys in Hong Kong einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Day Auction wurde die Arbeit Midnight Snack für HKD 1.071.000,00 (€ 129.491,70) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von HKD 600.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Jamian Juliano-Villani mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Heat Wave beobachtet, die im Juni 2021 für HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 342.171,67) versteigert wurde.
