Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Market Scene, St. Malo, Brittany by James Wilson Morrice was sold in the Important Canadian Art auction at Sothebys in Toronto in December 2009. Here, the upper estimate of CAD 80,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for CAD 88,750.00 (€ 59,193.50). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Wilson Morrice achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening Stroll, Venice in November 2011 with an auction result of CAD 1,497,500.00 (€ 1,091,317.18).
