The work Horse And Cart At Side Of The River by James Wilson Morrice was sold in the Important Canadian Art auction at Sothebys in Toronto in November 2010. The »bidding war« ended at CAD 39,000.00 (€ 29,139.31), 56% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Wilson Morrice achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Evening Stroll, Venice in November 2011 with an auction result of CAD 1,497,500.00 (€ 1,091,317.18).
