Auction result misses estimated price range
In January 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work An autumnal woodland scene by James Thomas Watts for GBP 293.75 (€ 482.63). This price was achieved in the auction BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 500.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Thomas Watts achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A wooded landscape in winter in March 2002 with an auction result of GBP 4,935.00 (€ 8,067.43).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Januar 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit An autumnal woodland scene von James Thomas Watts für GBP 293,75 (€ 482,63) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion BRITISH AND CONTINENTAL PICTURES bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 300,00 – 500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Thomas Watts erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A wooded landscape in winter im März 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.935,00 (€ 8.067,43).
