Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Study Of A Lobster And Shrimps by James Sillett was auctioned at Sothebys in London in July 2020. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,509.70) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by James Sillett - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Goldfish, which sold at auction in November 2010 for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,962.49).
