Auction result well in line with expectations
In September 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian Paintings, which included the work Figure By A Pond In A Wooded Landscape by James Sillett. The price achieved of GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,740.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Admittedly, works by James Sillett have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Goldfish in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,962.49).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im September 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figure By A Pond In A Wooded Landscape von James Sillett zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.195,00 (€ 1.740,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von James Sillett auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Goldfish im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.962,49).
