Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2004 Christies in London held the auction British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings, which included the work Figures on a riverside path, Beddgelert, North Wales by James Peel. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 836.50 (€ 1,252.16) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by James Peel achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work View near Walton on the Ribble, Lancashire in June 2002 with an auction result of GBP 20,315.00 (€ 31,422.70).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2004 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Victorian including Scottish Paintings durch, in der auch die Arbeit Figures on a riverside path, Beddgelert, North Wales von James Peel zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 836,50 (€ 1.252,16) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von James Peel erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit View near Walton on the Ribble, Lancashire im Juni 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 20.315,00 (€ 31.422,70).
